MOS Training + work experience

THE COURSE
8 days in the classroom: 6th – 8th and 11th – 15th December 2006

Open to all candidates seeking to improve desktop computer productivity skills and find employment in an administrative office.

The course is split into two parts, and will involve a 2 week class based training course followed by a 4 week work placement with a suitable company. The two week course is designed to prepare candidates with the necessary skills to maximise the use of Microsoft Office desktop programmes, familiarise with office tasks and prepare for employment.

MICROSOFT OFFICE SPECIALIST (MOS)

Candidates will follow the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification course. This course includes the main four office applications that are used in the majority of work places: Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

THE WORK PLACEMENT
4 week work experience starting in 8th January – 2nd February 2007.

Each candidate on the course will be placed with a suitable company for work experience upon completion of the Class Based Training. The type of company will depend upon the candidates skills, interests, suitability. Interviews will take place during week two of the Class Based Training.

THE QUALIFICATION

There are potentially four exams to take. Passing one exam qualifies for MOS Expert. Passing all four exams qualifies for a MOS Master Certification. It is intended that each participant will ideally pass at least one of the exams upon completion of the course. Employers around the world know that it's a smart move to hire certified candidates. And, certification can be an employee's ticket to better career opportunities.
